TheUnitedStatesisarepresentativedemocracy.Thismeansthatcitizenselectthegovernment.Citizens vote for their government officials. These officials represent the citizens’ ideas and concerns in government. Every citizen who is 18 years of age, is not a felon serving time in prison, or has not, because of insanity, been placed under the supervision ofanotherpersonhas suffrage ortherightto vote. To the United States, Japan, South Korea & New Zealand, democracy means freedom.
