So we make use of the Pythagorean Theorem for the extended triangle. That is, a 2 = (24+8) 2 + 15 2 a 2 = 32 2 + 15 2 a 2 = 1024 + 225 = 1249 a = 35.34 Hence, the perimeter can be found by adding the sides of the triangle. P = 24 + 17 + 35.34 = 76.34 in 3.2 Quadrilaterals A quadrilateral is defined as a closed figure with four sides and four angles. There are five kinds of quadrilaterals which are classified based on their properties of angles and sides. These are parallelogram, rhombus, rectangle, square, and trapezoid. In a parallelogram , opposite sides congruent and parallel while opposite angles are congruent. A rhombus has all the properties of parallelogram except all the sides of a rhombus are congruent. Also, the diagonals of the rhombus bisect each other and are perpendicular to each other. A rectangle is also like a parallelogram except that all the angles of a rectangle are right angles and diagonals are equal and bisect at right angles. A Achieve Page 49
