Another prominent humanistic psychologist, Carl Rogers , believed people have the capacity to change and improve themselves as long as someone believes in them. Rogers postulated the notion of unconditional positive regard. Regardless of someone’s actions, an individual would still approve of another individual who has committed poor actions. Ex. If a close friend is smoking, an individual may disapprove of the unwise behavior, but still love the individual committing the behavior.
