5.4 Properties of Quadrilaterals A quadrilateral is defined as any closed figure with four sides and four angles. There are three main types of quadrilaterals: parallelograms , trapezoids , and kites . Quadrilaterals can be further categorized into a rectangle , rhombus , or square . Similarly, trapezoids can be broken down into isosceles trapezoids . The length of the sides and their corresponding angle measurements are what give the quadrilateral its classification.
