2. If there are non-zero digits to the right your decimal, then the decimal must stay - if not, you can remove the decimal.

3. Remove any leading zeros from your percentage and add in the percent sign to the end of your number. The result is your new percentage.

Therefore, 7 converted to a percentage is 700%

How to Convert a Percent to a Decimal The simplest way to convert from a percentage to a decimal is to adjust the location of the decimal point.

1. Drop the percentage sign.

2. Locate the decimal - no decimal? Add one to the end of the whole number.

3. Move the decimal to the left two digits - no digit? Add a zero in the space. The result is your new decimal.

Therefore 32% as a decimal is 0.32.
