The AONE is one of the members of the tri-council for nursing, which serves as an information resource for government personnel. • Purpose: To provide a forum for nurses who have the managerial and executive responsibility to work collectively with other nurses. The National Organization for the Advancement of Associate Degree Nursing (NOAADN) The NOAADN is recognized nationally as the voice for Associate Degree (AD) nursing. Clinical Specialty Organizations Many other nursing organizations exist. Collectively, these organizations represent more nurses than the ANA. The purpose of a specialty organization is to promote the goals of nursing within that specialty. Functions include providing CE, lobbying legislatures, communicating development to its members, and promoting research in the field. These organizations include: • The Association of Operating Room Nurses • The American Association of Critical Care Nurses • The Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses • The American Association of Occupational Health Nurses • Oncology Nursing Society
