N211: Health Differences Across the Lifespan I Nursing interventions include monitoring CBC for Interferons and renal/liver enzymes for interleukin 2. Interleukin-2 may cause renal and liver dysfunction. Instruct client to take Tylenol prior to injections. Colony stimulating factors induce rapid bone marrow recovery after chemotherapy. They increase granulocyte stimulating factor. Drugs include Leukine, Prokine, Neupogen, and Erthythropoieten/Epogen Nursing Interventions include monitoring WBCs if client is taking Neupogen. Monitor RBCs if taking Epogen. Instruct client to self-inject subcutaneously and to report any signs of infection or bleeding.
