4.3.7 Area of a Sector of a Circle A sector is a fractional part of a circle. Think of an entire pizza as a circle. A sector would be a single slice of pizza. To find the area of a sector of a circle we use the formula = DK° 8 . Example Find the area of the sector if the radius is 2 cm. = 360° 8 = 60 360 (2) 8 = 1 6 (4) = 2 3 ≈ 2.09 cm 8 Again, notice the units are squared because we found the area of a sector.
