Human Growth and Development

From a developmental perspective, it's important to consider how bipolar disorder can affect a young person's emotional, social, and cognitive development. The mood swings can disrupt their ability to learn, form healthy relationships, and develop a positive self-identity. Early diagnosis and intervention is important to help them manage their emotions and live a healthy life. Personality Disorders

These are long-lasting ways of thinking, feeling and behavior that are very different from cultural expectations. They can cause serious problems and make daily life difficult, Examples: antisocial personality disorder, borderline personality disorder, narcissistic personality disorder. Differentiating Behavior Understanding different types of social behavior helps distinguish between harmful, withdrawn, and reserved tendencies. Antisocial Behavior: Actions that violate others' rights or disrupt society, often with an intention to harm (e.g., stealing, lying, aggression). Asocial Behavior: Withdrawal from social interaction and not wanting to form social connections. People with this behavior may not be harmful but prefer to be alone. (e.g., someone who enjoys spending most of their time alone and avoids social gatherings). Introversion: While introverts may enjoy some alone time , they can still enjoy being with others, but may feel tired after too much social interaction. They can also feel lonely if isolated for too long.
